4) Grigor Dimitrov v David Goffin (2017 F)

It was an unexpected final, but one of the most gripping contests of the competition’s history. Dimitrov had dismantled the Belgian in the group stages at the loss of just two games. But on the biggest stage of all, both men brought their very best. A match full of amazing shot-making, athleticism, and raw emotion.

3) Andy Murray v Milos Raonic (2016 SF)

These two had quite the rivalry in 2016, and this was their best clash yet. Murray had won their last seven meetings – five that year alone – but the Canadian was in the form of his life and caught the Scot out with some excellent returning. An enthralling clash of styles – and the longest match in the Finals’ history.

2) Rafael Nadal v Roger Federer (2013 SF)

By his high standards, Federer was off the pace in 2013. He had slipped to seventh in the world. And yet with a 4-0 record over the Spaniard on indoor hard courts, there was cause for the Swiss to be quietly confident. But after securing the year end top spot for the third time in his career, Nadal was back to his formidable best. It was another entertaining edition of the old rivalry – and in front of a sell-out O2 Arena.

1) Novak Djokovic v Roger Federer (2012 F)

Another incredible chapter of the pair’s rivalry was penned this year at Wimbledon – but this was undisputedly one of their most intriguing clashes. They had split their four meetings that year, but Federer had most recently clinched a shock victory on the Cincinnati hard. The Swiss came out with some extraordinary offensive tennis and pushed Djokovic to the very limit. A great match full of dramatic swings of momentum.
