A 36-year old, on the verge of retirement, against a 21-year old with years ahead of him… surely this wasn’t going to be much trouble for the second seed Alexander Zverev?

6) Denis Shapovalov v Andrey Rublev (R3)

Get used to seeing these two facing off, the future stars locked horns for a place in the fourth round. Their only other previous meeting came in 2017 when Andrey Rublev was victorious in the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan.

It was explosive, it was exciting, it was enticing. Whenever the mercurial Nick Kyrgios is involved, you can usually ensure it is one to watch. And this one against Borna Coric was no different. You won’t want to miss some of the shot-making in this epic.

Two different styles, two very aesthetically pleasing back-hands. Denis Shapovalov and Stefanos Tsitsipas have already shown they’ll be showcasing their talent at the highest level for a long time. It was a three set blockbuster, but which one of these youngsters came out on top?

1) Roberto Bautista Agut v Novak Djokovic (R4)

The match of the tournament, the shock of the tournament. Novak Djokovic was beaten in the second round in the BNP Paribas Open earlier in the month, so he was out to prove his critics wrong in the Miami Gardens. But against tricky Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the Serbian’s game capitulated as Bautista Agut turned up the heat.
